All about the new Predator Revo billiard shaft

Predator nobody beats Predator when it's time to revolutionize marketing and billiard industry with a new product. And they have again demonstrated with their new creature: the black shaft Revo made with carbon fiber introduced a few months ago. Is it as innovative as they say? Is it worth paying the $ 1,349 it costs the cheapest model and 3,445 of the most expensive? In today's article we reviewed all the features, advantages and disadvantages of the shaft Revo with which Predator aims to conquer the billiard universe.

Predator Revo billiard shaft

Why is it black?

Like everything else, a shaft comes to us first by sight. In this case the surprise is that, unlike the 99'9% of the market shafts, this is black. And it is because it is not made of wood but of carbon fiber. At the moment it is only available in matte gray / black.

No sign of ferrule

The second big news is that the arrow Revo has no ferrule. Due to the rigidity and resistance of the carbon fiber, from Predator they understood that it was not necessary to add additional weight and mass of a ferrule. Of course, between the carbon fiber composite and Predator Victory soft tip there are two small plates (Vault Plate and Tip V.Tek Silencier) that increase the rigidity and consistency of the shaft.

Larger diameter, 12'9

The thinnest part of the shaft (at the tip) measures 12.9 centimeters in diameter and thicker (in the thread) 21.3. This allows, according to Predator, to have a larger contact point and increased energy transfer and effects.

With the Revo, Predator also claims to have further reduced deflection. In this video Select Billiards, Brandon tests it:

Resistance, cleaning and touch

There are three factors from Revo that are driving crazy all billiardist: one, the shaft is very tough, much tougher than others made of wood. At  practice, that means it takes the shots better (and tantrums). Two, it seldom gets dirty. It does not turn blue over time but remains unblemished. And three, the bridge slides well even in wet conditions without talc. That’s why professional billiard players like Darren Appleton or Jasmin Ouschan already use and recommend this shaft.

But does it have any problem ?!

Yes, the price. The Revo is a limited edition shaft that starts with a price of $ 1,349 the cheapest model (P3 REVO GN) and goes up to $ 3,445 for the most expensive (REVO 20th Anniversary Limited Edition Cues 2). And you can’t buy the shaft only. It is an important investment, but Predator "promises" it is a unique experience because there has never been anything like it.

It will be a matter of saving… and testing it.

PS: I have not tested the shaft Revo. In this post I highlight its features and benefits based on the opinions of billiard players that are already using it, but it does not mean it is an impeccable shaft in every way. Revolutionary, no doubt.
