These are the best billiard players of 2021

Billiards is a highly competitive sport in which the top spots are constantly changing based on each player's performance in major tournaments. The World Pool-Billiard Association is responsible for managing the sport's rankings, assigning each player a number of points for their performance in major tournaments. Currently, the top three players in the world are Ko Ping-Chung, Joshua Filler and Shane Van Boening. These are some of the best players in the world and their places in the rankings are no fluke. Each of these players has demonstrated tremendous skill at the table.

2020 saw a lot of disruption on the pool circuit, with many major tournaments unfortunately cancelled and some players unable to travel. However, 2021 has been different. Most of the major pool tournaments are underway and we should see some excellent matches in the coming months.

Right now, these are the top billiards players today.

Ko Ping-Chung
Ko Ping-Chung is a Taiwanese 10-ball and 9-ball billiards player. Having won the 2019 WPA 10-ball World Championship, Ko is currently ranked first in the rankings. He also reached the final of the 2019 9-ball championships, but was defeated by Fedor Gorst, the eventual champion. Despite his young age, Ko Ping-Chung has proven that he can compete with the best players in the world, putting in exciting performances in some of the world's top tournaments.

In 2021, Ko will be looking to build on her 2019 success and take home some major prizes. She will almost certainly compete in the 2021 World Pool Masters 2021 held in Gibraltar. This is a 9-ball tournament, which is Ko's preferred format and should help give him an edge.

Joshua Filler
Joshua Filler is a German pool player who is currently ranked second. While he is ranked number one in the European rankings, he lost to Ko Ping-Chung in the final of the 2019 WPA 10-ball Championship, losing his world number one ranking to this opponent. Filler is actually two years younger than Ping-Chung, which makes his achievements even more impressive. The 23-year-old, backed by thousands of bettors through Betway, the prestigious sportsbook, has been a professional since 2014 and was the youngest player to win the China Open and the European Group Championships when he won both tournaments in 2018.

Filler is expected to compete in the World Pool Masters this year alongside top pool players. No doubt, Filler will be hoping to take home the $100,000 prize money as well as his first place ranking. In addition to the World Pool Masters, Filler is expected to compete in several European pool competitions this year.

Shane Van Boening
Shane Van Boening is an American pool player from Rapid City, South Dakota. At 37, he is the oldest of the top three players in the world, but has managed to build an impressive career over the years. Van Boening has won several world championships, including the most recent 8-ball and 10-ball championships in 2018. His highest world ranking was coming in at number 2, but he has always been considered one of the top players thanks to his great consistency.

Shane Van Boening is scheduled to play in multiple tournaments in the United States, including the Diamond Las Vegas Open and the WPA World 10-ball Championship, both in September. In addition to this, we can expect to see Shane participating in the Mosconi Cup once again.

These are 3 of the best billiard players that will surely shine in the Tournaments to be held in the coming months.
