The best pool billiard magazines

Unfortunately, in our kiosks there are no Spanish magazines for billiard lovers. But you can find good billiard publications in other countries, especially in the United States, and subscribe to them to receive them at home. We've already talked about the best channels on YouTube and the most recommended billiard books, so today we review the best magazines to keep up with what happens in the world of billiards (and at the same time improve your English).

Las mejores revistas de billar pool

1- Billiards Digest

Due to its history and the quality of the content they publish, Billiards Digest is undoubtedly the best magazine for American pool. It exists since 1978 and is published monthly. In each issue they prepare a topic in depth (for example, an extensive report on the US Open) and other shorter topics on tournaments, players or billiard stories. One year subscription costs $ 53 (48 €) for shipments to Europe, four euros per number. But they also publish the theme of the month on their website and those of previous editions are available.

2- Pool & Billiards

Almost as veteran as Billiards Digest, Pool & Billiards, founded in 1983, is the second best known pool magazine in the market. It is also published in the United States and a new version comes out every month. By design I like Billiards Digest, but the advantage of Pool & Billiards is that it offers an online subscription, so you don’t need to wait for the copy to arrive home. Thus, you can make an annual subscription to the paper magazine for 74.95 $ (69 €), or just buy the digital PDF for 19'95 $ (18,30 €). Here you can read the June 2015 edition to get an idea of ??the contents of the magazine.

3- InsidePool

This was, in its day, another great pool magazine at the height of Billiards Digest, with a publication every two months. But, apparently, no new numbers come out. Or at least that's what comes out of their chaotic and outdated website. In any case, some old copies with interesting stories are still available. Here you can read the magazine in digital format from July / August 2013.

4- Rack’em

We moving forward with another less well-known magazine but which can also be interesting. Rack'em covers the Midwest region of the United States and is also published once a month. It is more local, but also offers good content on pool. The great advantage of this magazine is that you can read all their numbers for free in its digital version here. Check out the October edition, which talks about Skyler Woodward, the American debutant in the Mosconi Cup.

5. Sneaky Pete Mafia

b>And we finish this compilation of billiard magazines with a very recent one. Sneaky Pete Mafia has just published seven numbers, but they look good. You can read its digital version here. Besides the magazine, the posts of their blog are worth, in which they make material reviews and invite top players like Darren Appleton to give their point of view of the situation of the billiards world-wide.
