How do you make a Jerry Pechauer cue?

Jerry Pechauer is a brand of pool material is slowly making its way into Europe and Spain. While not a brand as well known as Predator or Poison, performance not usually leave indifferent pool players.

In this post want to share the manufacturing process of a cue of Jerry Pechauer so you know first hand how is manufactured.

The process begins with a commitment to total quality control, starting with the selection of clear hard-rock curly and bird’s-eye logs.  We cut the logs and dry the lumber in our own specialized kiln.

Each cue in the “Professional Series” starts with a select piece of hard-rock maple from which the shaft is born. It is chosen for its exceptional whiteness and grain.

To these are married butt sections of bird’s-eye/curly maple, ebony, cocobolo, and other exotic woods. The ferrule, forearm and butt cap are glued as well as threaded. Gluing and threading ensures that parts never come loose. Inlays are precision fit to eliminate glue lines.

Parts and components, which most cue makers purchase from outside sources, are individually crafted in-house to maintain quality at every step of the hand-crafting process.

The shop is atmosphere controlled so moisture levels are consistent throughout the entire assembly. Each cue is flawlessly finished using 8 coats of state of the art UV finish, sanded between coats, and polished to a high gloss shine.

It all comes together, with quality strictly controlled at each step of the way.  Meticulous assembly, precision fit, perfect finish and a balance and feel that is unmatched anywhere, to create the J. Pechauer Custom Cue.

Well, this is the manufacturing process. Were you expecting it?
